Did President of the Phoenix Suns announce he was gay to avoid getting fired?

In case your unfamiliar with the story. the president of the suns, announced he was gay recently. Now i find it odd he happens to do this when there is talk about the possiblity of changes being made in management since Suns missed the playoff this year and are projected to be "rebuilding" for a while. I find it odd he choses to announce this just as their are whispers and rumors about him getting replaced. Now Phoenix is tasked with either keeping the guy on, or firing the openly gay president. Seems kinda dubious to me
