Why doesn't the bible give a date for the rapture?

It's because if it did, then we'd all realize that it was wrong when it didn't happen, and people would stop believing. But no, the bible doesn't give a date to keep all of you fanatics drooling over your dubious bronze age literature for as long as possible.
