Where can I meet women if I am not in education any more, and I work with a bunch of guys....?

I don't particularly go out socialising too much to be honest, so clubs, bars and parties are not exactly my type of thing. Too many drunk people at these venues, and the women are dubious of the guys approaching them, so what's the point? I really don't know what other way there is to meet women. I do go to the gym, but everyone is more interested in having a workout than chatting. What do you suggest?
